Open Data and Automation: 

A Series of follow-up presentations from the Open Data Day webinar that will dive deeper into specific topics like open data publication automation, dashboards, and spatial data.

This third and final presentation in the series will demonstrate how to keep Open Data updated and current through automation. Learn how the New York State Energy Research and Development Authority (NYSERDA) refreshes datasets published on the Open NY website by leveraging the Secure File Transfer Protocol (SFTP) method that Open NY makes available with an automated workflow that includes verification steps and email notifications to help assure the process works effectively.

Becky is the Manager of Data Solutions and oversees the Data Governance team at NYSERDA. In addition to keeping NYSERDA’s sensitive data secure, Becky leads the effort to make NYSERDA’s public data accessible to both internal and external stakeholders through Open Data, data warehouses, and data visualization and mapping strategies. Becky joined NYSERDA in 2009 and has nearly 20 years of experience in the energy industry.
