“Introduction to Artificial Intelligence (AI) in the Public Sector”

Beginner and Advanced 

This session provides a foundational understanding of artificial intelligence (AI) and the major approaches, or subgroups, of AI - machine learning, deep learning, and GenAI - to focus on their applications within public sector agencies. Participants will learn about the basic principles of AI, how AI models are trained, and the potential use cases for AI in government services, such as predictive analytics for resource allocation, assisted decision-making, and enhancing citizen engagement.  For those who already have an understanding of AI fundamentals, this session will provide insights into AI trends and futures and help dispel some common myths.

Objectives: Understand basic AI concepts, Explore practical AI applications in the public sector. Identify opportunities and challenges of implementing AI in public services.
