During this session, we will examine how governments can future proof their operating models and governance frameworks in the face of rapid technological change, evolving digital sovereignty considerations, and rising expectations for transparency, security, and resilience.
 
This presentation will explore what the “digital state” could look like over the next decade, including how emerging technologies such as AI may shape service delivery and decision-making. Attendees will also gain perspective on how the role of government IT leadership is evolving, along with practical steps organizations can begin taking today to align with future priorities and drive mission impact.

Speaker Bio:
Mike Shevlin is a Senior Director Analyst at Gartner, where he is a member of the public-sector team with a concentration on public safety and justice. He has an extensive background in law enforcement and law enforcement technology and covers the topics of integrated justice, core public safety systems, emerging technologies impacting public safety, and industry vendors and strategy.
Before joining Gartner, Mr. Shevlin served as CIO for the Pennsylvania State Police for almost a decade. He came to the CIO role from the business, having been an Air Force Security Police officer, a municipal police officer, and a municipal chief of police prior to working in public safety planning and information technology for the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.
