Join us to hear Scott Stalker of the NYS Office of Information Technology Services talk about Python, the general purpose open source coding language.  Python is a programming language that lets you work more quickly and integrate your systems more effectively.  Whether you are new to programming or an experienced developer, it's easy to learn and use Python.  Python can be used for:

  • Web development/Building web apps
  • Scientific Computing and Data Science
  • Machine Learning

Fun fact:  According to Python.org, “When he began implementing Python, Guido van Rossum was also reading the published scripts from ‘Monty Python’s Flying Circus’…he needed a name that was short, unique, and slightly mysterious, so he decided to call the language Python.”
