Since its launch in March, 2013, New York State’s Open Data program has grown to over 1,700 data resources from 58 state agencies, freely available to the public.  Comprised of nearly 700 million records and growing daily, and spanning diverse topics such as health, education, environment, human services, economic development and more, New York’s program certainly qualifies as “Big Data”.  As impressive as the program’s data offerings are, equally as impressive are the various ways that this data can be leveraged.  From on-platform charting and mapping, to integrations with popular data tools, to programmatic API access for application developers, the possibilities to build with NY Open Data are endless.

Join John Rager, Acting NYS Chief Data Officer and Diane Boyd, Manager of NY Open Data as they discuss the program and demonstrate the capabilities of the data.ny.gov platform.
