As of September 6th, 2021 The NYS Forum has will be following the NYS Guidelines related to COVID-19 screening and social distancing procedures within our offices.  All those who choose to attend Forum sessions in-person are required to have a Covid-19 Vaccination or have had a negative Covid test. The NYS Forum also requests that any individuals attending in-person wear a mask when inside the building.  

Steven H. Spalten, Chief Strategic Officer - New York State Department of Labor
Steven has over 25 years’ experience working in numerous roles within New York State government transforming how critical services are delivered.   Prior to join DOL, Steven worked at NYS ITS in different leadership roles since its creation, including leading the migration into Office365, serving as the Deputy Chief Operations Officer (COO) and the Executive Director of the Tourism and Environment Portfolio.   Since joining NYS DOL during the COVID response, Steven is focusing on transforming how DOL provides services to NYS residents and modernizing business practices. 

Chris White, Associate Commissioner for the Future of Work
Chris has worked for New York State since 2012, previously leading the Department of Labor's Communications Office and later serving as Director of Communications for then-Lieutenant Governor Kathy Hochul. He has been extensively involved in workforce development policy and has overseen several major statewide outreach and education campaigns including $15 minimum wage, closing the gender wage gap, subminimum wage and workplace sexual harassment prevention. In his current role, he focuses on updating workforce development systems and policy and monitoring trends in the workforce, working to modernize how we train workers for the jobs of today and tomorrow.
