Presenter Bio's

Archana Jayaram - Chief Operating Officer at The Legal Aid Society 

Archana is the Chief Operating Officer of The Legal Aid Society. In this capacity, she is responsible for Finance, Human Resources, MIS, Facilities and Shared Services along with special projects and initiatives. Archana comes to Legal Aid with a deep history of leadership in New York City government and the non-profit sector.

Most recently Archana served as the Deputy Commissioner of Strategic Planning and Policy at the New York City Department of Buildings where she supervised teams in Technology, Analytics and Data Science, Risk Management and Audit, Strategic Operations, Customer Service, and the Project Management Office. At DOB she oversaw, designed and led the deployment of an ambitious effort to modernize all aspects of the agency’s operations and transform customer experience.

Archana created and launched the Individualized Correction Achievement Network (I-CAN) and the Adolescent Behavioral Learning Experience while serving as Associate Commissioner of Programs at the NYC Department of Correction. She prioritized people in need of reentry and youth services. Archana also ran the rehousing initiative for homeless families while working as an Urban Fellow at the NYC Department of Homeless Services.

Archana is a graduate of Columbia Business School and the University of Pennsylvania.
