Transitioning a manual process to electronic process and the building basics

Allison Ives, NYS Office of Mental Health (OMH)

• Worked at OMH since March of 2022
• Worked at DOH since December 2019
• Part of the initial DOH team that responded to the COVID 19 pandemic and stood up the contact tracing initiative. This included large scale implementation of Teams as a means of managing the contact tracing workforce. Worked with a small group of DOH employees to develop tools and strategies using Teams and Power Automation to respond to the daily changing needs of the contact tracing initiative.
• Once at OMH, took those tools and redeveloped Staffing system and transitioned OMH State Operations and the 19 state run psychiatric centers from using email and old SharePoint to Teams and new SharePoint. All using the skills and tools learned during the pandemic.
