Since 2011, The NYS Forum has offered professional training and development courses to more than 10,000 New York government employees, providing the critical skills needed to insure successful government operations.

Since 2021, classes once offered only in person are now offered via the internet. This method allows for live, instructor-led delivery with levels of engagement that, in most cases, are better than face-to-face instruction, and allow for greater participation.

As the continuing education needs of New York’s government workers change and grow, so too has The Forum’s commitment to serve those needs. Working closely with our government clients, we and our training partner, Soft Ed, have grown our offerings to the point where we are pleased to announce the establishment of The NYS Forum Training Academy.

Currently, The NYS Forum Academy offers more than 20 classes in a wide variety of disciplines, including

  • Generative AI Skills
  • Business Analysis
  • Agile Methods & Skills
  • DevSecOps
  • Data Analysis
  • Power Skills for Professional Success
  • Leadership
  • Professional Assessment

It is the Academy’s goal to provide high quality, industry recognized training, certifications, and assessments at reasonable cost. And working with our trusted partner, Soft Ed, we will regularly source new need-to-know trainings based on the ever-changing needs of government agencies. By the end of 2024, the Academy projects its course offerings will exceed 30.
